- 5 / 5By Kurt JansenReally good food at reasonable prices! I started coming here as a kid, and it's well worth the trip from the other side of the river. They're known for their chicken which is fantastic, but so is everything else. The Texas Burger is really good, their daily specials are always good, and their cream pies are so good that I almost wish I'd never tasted them, because all other pies pale by comparison.
Even if the food was just average, I would still give them high ratings for the service. No one is a stranger at the Hitching Post. The same family owns it that started it back in the 60s, and the quality is the same or higher than it was then. They care about their food, and they care about their customers, and it keeps me coming back.January 28, 2017
